UCMA Statement of Intent
As members of the University Christian Ministry Association we agree to the following:
1. We are an association of ministry staff and student leaders working with Christian ministries that are: 1) affiliated with UMN student organizations, or 2) affiliated with UMN faculty/staff organizations, or 3) involved with Christian religious studies opportunities for UMN students, or 4) churches/organizations having a missional emphasis to UMN students/faculty.
2. We share a commitment to: 1) a Christian statement of faith, 2) a statement of ministry conduct, 3) value and defend freedom of religion, free speech, and equal opportunity for individuals and groups of all religious/spiritual traditions and beliefs and cultural groups that exist in the UMN community.
3. We desire to identify with and contribute to the University of Minnesota by working with and among those who are responsible for the programs, services, and persons who make up this community. We will work to provide resources and energy toward the spiritual, social, intellectual, and cultural development of the institution and the people it serves.
4. The purpose of our association is to help our members: 1) advance the cause of Christ, 2) join together in prayer, 3) address the University community with a united voice on issues and concerns that are important to our members, 4) provide care, advice, encouragement, and accountability for each other, 5) promote Christian unity.
